Szczawnica Spa Museum

An intimate exhibition introducing the history of the resort, its most important inhabitants and regional traditions. The Spa Museum in Szczawnica is located in the elegant Villa on the historic Dietl Square.
The exposition of the Szczawnica Spa Museum consists of 3 main exhibitions: Uzdrowisko Szczawnica - 200 Years of Tradition - local healing springs and their exploitation over the centuries. The positive properties of the local waters were already known in the 16th century, but it was not until the second half of the 19th century, thanks to the Szalay family, that the resort started to develop rapidly. The Stadnickis in Szczawnica - a reminder of the huge contribution made by this family from the Lesser Poland to the town and the spa. In 1909, Count Adam Stadnicki bought the Szczawnica health resort and subsequently made it one of the most modern and best in the whole of Europe. How People Traveled to Szczawnica's Spas - old means of transport and accessories necessary for a difficult journey through the mountains. Descriptions of popular routes, elements of carriages and chaises, suitcases, insecticidal "Persian powder" and many other interesting facts. The Spa Museum in Szczawnica also has several different publications to its credit, ranging from various studies to book-length memoirs and guides to the area.
